Queen of Hearts

Walking by myself again, basking in the cold glow of the street light.
Start to feel lonely like Van Gogh in the midst of his Starry Night.
And the Queen of Hearts has ripped mine from my sleeve.
Been warned too many times, I didn't know which tale to believe.

Say that you'll love me, but you won't let me near.
Stop to smell roses that have been dead for years.
Promise that you're happy, but you break into tears.
But I'll wait, oh I'll wait, for you.

Seeking out sleep 'cause it's the only cure for my condition.
Fly through my dreams thinking, "Man, this is what I've been missing."
And the Queen of Hearts is sittin' in her throne.
Cause the heart that she stole has grown cold, and again she's alone.

Say that you'll love me, but you won't let me near.
Stop to smell roses that have been dead for years.
Promise that you're happy, but you break into tears.
But I'll wait, oh I'll wait, for you.

My hourglass is always on the wrong side.
I'm done with these rules that everyone abides.
I'm gonna seek, I don't want you to hide.
I'll wait, oh I'll wait, for you.

Say that you'll love me, but you won't let me near.
Stop to smell roses that have been dead for years.
Promise that you're happy, but you break into tears.
But I'll wait, oh I'll wait, for you.
